Hong Kong

Quiet beach in Lantau island
Hong Kong is our last destination. And at first we didn't even want to come here, to save some money. I am glad though that destiny at Singapore Airport decided for us and we got on our way.
Hong Kong is divided into four main areas - Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, the New Territories and the Outlying Islands. We decided to spend our nights outside the hustle and bustle of the main islands and found a quiet little beach hotel in Lantau island. Unfortunately the weather was breezy and a bit cold on our first days, so we couldn't really enjoy time outdoors in our "private" beach. We would't really have had that much time for beachwalks anyway as there is lot to see in Hong Kong! We hopped to a ferry that took us to the Hong Kong island and showed us a great view of the famous harbour's skyline, even if it was a bit cloudy.

Hong Kong island is a great place to see people live and work... Here the hustle and bustle get's you. Around lunchtime everyone is on the streets and we enjoyed strolling around without hurry amongst this busy business crowd. :) Hong Kong island is very steep and walking up the hills can get exhausting. Thank god there is help; we took the 800m outdoor escalator towards the Victoria Peak, but our hunger forced us to a nepalese restaurant on our way. Some good food later (yum, homemade cheese!)we continued to explore.
